Radarsat Roadshow in Latin
America Kicks Off
RADARSAT International
(RSI) of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada is
pleased to announce that the Latin American segment
of the international RADARSAT Roadshow kicks off
on April 25, 1996 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Roadshow stop in Argentina is the first of
a seven-country tour of Latin America. During
the next five weeks, visits will be made to cities
in Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela
and Mexico.
Led by RSI, the RADARSAT
Roadshow is a global initiative which showcases
Canada´s expertise in space, especially
in earth observation technologies. With 28 stops
on five continents, the RADARSAT Roadshow will
play a key role in boosting international awareness
of the RADARSAT program and stimulating interest
in RADARSAT products and services for use in a
wide range of applications.
The RADARSAT Roadshow information
session on April 25, 1996 has been organized in
collaboration with AEROTERRA S.A., RSI´s
distributor in Argentina, an the Canadian Embassy
in Buenos Aires. It will be held at the UIA Union
Industrial de Argentina from 09:00 to 17:00. Representatives
from AEROTERRA, DAIS (La Plata), PCI Latin America,
Intermap Technologies, Essential Planning Systems,
MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates, and RSI
will deliver presentations on RADARSAT and its
advantages, RADARSAT products and services, key
applications in Argentina, and value-added services.

The Roadshow stop in Argentina
coincides with the GIAC Export Conference in Buenos
Aires. At this event, presentations on the role
of RADARSAT in watershed management and as a data
source for environmental monitoring will be delivered
by RSI. In addition, Aeroterra will deliver a
presentation highlighting Canadian/Argentinian
initiatives.
RADARSAT, designed, constructed, and launched
under the aegis of the Canadian Space Agency,
is equipped with an advanced Synthetic Aperture
Radar (SAR). As the world´s first operationally-oriented
radar satellite, RADARSAT´s unique capabilities
open a vast new array of applications worldwide.

United Sates and Canada, and SPOT, Landsat
